

Otherwise: Tearing, but no "micro-stuttering". Result: No tearing as long as your CPU/GPU Combo can deliver frames fast enough. If your CPU/GPU Combo can't deliver frames fast enough, VSync will be turned off until it can be recovered to the frame rate of your monitor again. frame rate of your monitor (usually 60 FPS). With VSync set to "adaptive", the GPU will cap the frame rates to the supported max. With VSync "on" you will never get 110 FPS. Result: No tearing, but probably lower frame rates when the frames drop below 60 FPS and "micro-stuttering" when the frame rate lock level changes. If your CPU/GPU Combo can't deliver frames fast enough, it will lock the frame rate to the next nearest level, e.g. With VSync "on", the GPU will cap the frame rates to the supported max. Result: High frame rates (whatever your CPU/GPU Combo can deliver), but tearing occurs unless you own a GSync Monitor. With VSync "off", the GPU will send every frame to the monitor once it has been rendered completely.
